Namaste, I'm Camille.
Welcome to my space for healing through yoga, energy work and creativity. If you've ever felt alone in your healing journey, you've come to the right place.
Let me start by sharing my own personal story with you...
Once upon a time,
I was a stressed out grad student dealing with depression, anxiety, and a fear of the unknown.
When I started practicing yoga in 2007 to improve my psychological well-being, I had no idea it would soon become a central catalyst for positive change in my life.
After earning a master's degree in education, I went on to work in the non-profit world, and completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica with Don & Amba Stapleton in 2009.
Later that year while working as a preschool teacher, I discovered Ashtanga Yoga in Santa Monica, CA and was guided through the Primary Series by Gary and Melissa Margolin, students of Maty Ezraty.
In 2010 I left for St. Vincent and the Grenadines to serve for two years in the Peace Corps, during which I learned to practice independently, and have had a dedicated daily practice ever since.
After returning to the states, I went to work at Peace Corps headquarters in Washington D.C. and continued my personal studies with yoga therapy, energy healing, meditation, and variations of the traditional Ashtanga method.
In 2013, I decided to "take it up" and completed a 50-hour Intensive in Progressive Ashtanga Yoga (the Rocket) with David C. Kyle in Arlington, VA.
I've taught yoga in all over the place - from urban studios to rural communities and international retreat venues. While living in DC, I had the privilege of teaching at the White House Athletic Center, the Secret Service, and Georgetown Yoga.
I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from practicing yoga and have taught people of all physical abilities and from all walks of life, including formerly incarcerated youth, celebrities, professional athletes, and everyday hard-working people.
I made my first pilgrimage to the Source of modern day yoga in the summer of 2016 to study Ashtanga Yoga with Saraswathi Ragaswamy - daughter of K. Pattabhi Jois - in Mysore, India.
This life-changing experience opened up a path to share the Ashtanga practice with my community in the Bay Area. I had the incredible opportunity to devote myself to the study of Ashtanga through the delicate art of guiding others through the practice.
Now living in Los Angeles, CA I have the great fortune to continue my Ashtanga studies under the tutelage of KPJAYI teachers Aimee Echo, Jorgen Christiansson and Noah Williams.
As a yoga teacher, I draw from my diverse experiences as a student, educator, and energy healer to relate to each student and their developmental level.
When I'm not teaching yoga, I also work as a Program Manager for Niroga Institute, treat my puppy like a human, and play musical instruments among other things...
I'm grateful for each day I am able to share the sacred practice of connecting breath and movement.
I would love to hear about and support your healing. Email email@example.com with your yoga questions and stories.
